Come and See RE
We have been exploring communities. We have learned about the people in the wider community and our parish. We have learned about what motivates people to serve and support others.
NSPCC Number Day
We explored missing number games using number sentences, bar models and part part whole models.
Children’s Mental Health Week
We have had a really enjoyable and informative week .The theme has been Growing Together. We have written acrostic poems, thought about the people who support us, and discovered how we can develop our homes and dreams. We are finding our ROAR rainbow really helpful. We have dressed to express ourselves. We have taken part in Safer Internet Day.
Liverpool Children’s Festival Of Reading
We enjoyed working on The Son Of The Circus by E.L. Norry. We wrote questions about the text and then watched a fascinating presentation from the author. We learned a great deal about her background, what inspired her and the work involved in researching historical fiction.
We have been learning about water as a natural resource. We are comparing the use and availability of water in Merseyside and California. We have used atlases, maps, google earth, United Utilities resources and images . We have also carried out field work to explore how we use water in school and how it enters and leaves the school buiding. We have examined the water cycle and how water is treated before and after use.
Levers and Linkages.
We designed illustrations for some of our favourite books and stories. We used levers to make moving parts.
On Thursday, 3rd of March, year 4 had a very musical morning. Following our guitar lesson we had the opportunity to learn to play the ukelele!
Thank you to Mr Rooney for such a great experience!
World Book Day
We celebrated by dressing as a character from our favourite books. We had an autograph hunt in class and told each other about our books and characters. We were all inspired to read books our friends recommended.
