Welcome to the Computing Curriculum page.
Please find below relevant information and documents relating to the Computing Curriculum we follow at St Anthony of Padua.
In our school, we intend to help each child to develop into someone who:
* is digitally confident
* has a range of transferable skills
* is a responsible online citizen.
Here are some examples of our work!
Some of Year 6 have had a great time today working with Miss Collins on various stop motion projects. Stop motion is an animated film making technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back. Here are some examples of the projects we created,
In Computing Year Two we have started learning about algorithms. To start this topic, we completed a practical activity which involved us creating a pictorial algorithm for a Lego model. We then had a go at following other people’s algorithms to see if we could correctly complete their model. This activity gave us an understanding of what algorithms were and how they are used on digital devices. It also introduced us to the idea of debugging; fixing an algorithm when it has gone wrong.
