Art and Design
Welcome to the Art and Design curriculum page.
Please find below relevant information and documents relating to the Art and Design curriculum we follow at St Anthony of Padua.
Here are some examples of our Art and Design work!
This term Year 2 have been studying the formal elements of Art and Design. As part of this topic, we explored taking rubbings of different textures. We then looked at a technique called ‘Frottage’, which was originally created by the artist Max Ernst. This technique involves using rubbings of different textures to create images. We used our rubbings to create landscapes. Below is a photograph of our work on display in our classroom. I think you will agree they look very effective!
Year 2 have also looked at repeating patterns during this art topic. We created different repeating patterns by dipping different objects in paint. One of the patterns we looked at was an ABB pattern, which we created using cotton buds dipped into two different colours of paint.
