LIVERPOOL COUNTS QUALITY MARK
Following on from the Gold Reading Quality Mark, St Anthony of Padua Catholic Primary School achieved earlier this year, the school has now been accepted onto an exciting new pilot project - 'Liverpool Counts Quality Mark'. The quality mark aims to promote positive attitudes to numeracy as an essential life skill, not just to be used in the classroom. During the next few months we will be looking at different ways to show the pupils that numeracy skills are used consistently in everyday life. Please see further details about this project under the Key Information tab.
Children at St. Anthony of Padua participate in projects organised by the South Liverpool Learning Network. Recently, projects have involved work to enhance pupils' writing, E-Safety and Drama.
Gifted and Talented writers and Drama students from Year 5 and 6 have visited the Theatre and been involved in a Writing Workshop at Liverpool College. The whole school is involved in our Inspiration Weeks. Our Inspiration Themes eg. Creativity, Health and Safety, Rivers and Bridges involve pupils experiencing Educational Visits to enhance their learning
As a school we are keen to ensure all children benefit from healthy lifestyles. We promote fitness levels through the school's Active Playground Initiative. Trained Play Leaders from Year 6, play traditional playground games with younger children. This initiative has been running for many years and has been very successful in promoting good playground behaviour and active lifestyles.
