At their Mathematics meeting, the Ambassadors worked together to plan ideas for exciting activities to help the children learn Maths in fun ways on Number Day. Each class will  complete their own Mathematical challenges, however, the Maths Ambassadors agreed on three whole school activities:

  • Sing number songs
  • Bring in a Maths game from home to play with friends
  • Have a Maths story

We are looking forward to an enjoyable Number Day to raise money for the NSPCC!

NSPCC Number Day 2nd February 2018

NSPCC Number Day 2nd February 2018 1

NSPCC Number Day 2018

We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in their Number Day on Friday 2 February 2018.

The NSPCC believes that all children deserve a childhood free from harm but, sadly, that’s not the case for many children. That’s why the NSPCC is fighting for every childhood and working to help keep children safe from abuse.

The NSPCC needs our support. By raising money, we can help to fund their vital services such as Childline – the helpline that’s always there for children and young people whatever their problem or concern.

On Friday 2nd February, we will be taking part in Dress up for Digits and pupils will be invited to wear an item of clothing with a number on it and donate £1.00 for the NSPCC. During the day the children will also complete some exciting mathematical activities. The documents below give ideas to support your child's learning in mathemtactics at home.

MATHS TAX FACTS In Key Stage Two, the children had workshops delivered by HMRC, to teach them in a fun and enjoyable way that taxes provide the money that is needed to pay for essential services for children, families and the community. The activities provided the children with opportunites to apply their mathematical understanding in real life sitiuations and so helped to develop problem-solving skills.
