Monday 30th April 2018
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are hoping to raise awareness and fundraise to support the charity debra. It is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) , a painful genetic skin blistering condition. debra focuses on researching to find effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for EB and providing care and support to improve the quality of life for individuals and families living with EB.
James Dunn, was a past pupil of St Anthony of Padua, who suffered with this awful condition and worked incredibly hard to raise awareness and gain support for debra. Sadly, he passed away on 7th April 2018, aged 24, after a short battle with cancer. What he achieved, is an inspiration to all: despite his daily struggle, living by the mottos 'keep smiling' and 'you only live once.’
As James had a passion for photography, we would like to continue his hard work in helping to Fight EB by hosting an exciting school photography competition!
The theme is ‘YOLO’
This could be absolutely anything: think about what makes you happy or thankful as a starting point; your teachers will have some tips for taking great photographs to help you.
Please submit your entry, with a small donation for debra , by Monday 21st May 2018, to your class teacher. The following slip must also be submitted with the photograph, signed by a parent or guardian. Good Luck and enjoy finding your YOLO moment!
